Lip Scrub in Bubblegum - Lush £5.25

This post is a long time coming. I've been dying to try this lip scrub for such a long time but I've never gotten round to picking one up until this week.
No matter what time of year it is or what the weather is doing I suffer from really dry lips. I always carry lip balm with me (Carmex is my go to and has been since I was 16) but I still suffer from flaky skin on my lips. Being a girl who loves her lippy this problem has always really annoyed me - there's nothing worse than patchy lippy sticking to dry patches.
I first heard about this scrub through other people's blogs and I read such rave reviews that I knew I'd have to try it. It's no chore going into Lush, I love the place. I'd buy far more of my products there if I could afford it! Recently the Lush store in Liverpool has moved to a bigger premises (they've added a spa! - how exciting please?!) and I haven't had a chance to pop in so I was excited to go in and have a little scout around. I found the scrubs straight away and then I had the hard choice of picking a flavour. There are three flavours in this product - mint julips, popcorn and bubblegum. They all smell amazing but I think the bright shade of pink swayed me into choosing bubblegum.
The second I got home I wiped off the lip product I was already wearing and got down to business. I opened the little glass pot and the smell hit me immediately. It's hyper sweet, girly and just bubblegum! The texture of the scrub is really grainy without being harsh and I only had to rub it across my lips for a minute and then (this is the fun part) lick it off. It's super yummy and my lips were left so smooth and soft. I then smothered my lips in lip balm and I was done. Lovely soft, hydrated lips perfectly prepped for any lip product of your choosing!
I can see this product being a staple in my beauty collection. As long as you don't think of the grossness that is you licking off your dead skin (yes it's a little grim) this is such an amazing little product and a definate essential for me.
I've got a huge list of things I'm desperate to try from Lush so keep an eye out for more reviews from me!

  2. Love the Fighting Animal Testing logo! :)

You could make your own sugar lip scrub as well! Just mix 2 parts of sugar (brown or refined) with 1 part of oil of your preference (olive or coconut seem to most used) and you're done! That said, it's always nice to buy a lovely product from a nice company that stands for all the right things! :)

    Oh! And happy belated birthday!

  6. These are really nice, although I also really like to make my own by just mixing a tiny bit of water with some sugar, and you can even add some food flavouring things if you want a specific taste, then just use an old toothbrush to apply it. Really nice review too! Followed you!
