Caudalie Beauty Elixir - £9.35 escentual.com
Unless you've been living under a rock then I'm sure you'll have heard of Caudalie's Beauty Elixir. It appeared onto the beauty scene and the next thing it became somewhat of a cult product with every beauty blogger and her dog using it (Victoria Beckham is also a fan!) and telling of the wonderful results they were seeing from it. I've been dying to try this product for what seems like forever and after giving my whole skincare regime a make over it seemed like a good time to pick this gorgeous little bottle up and see what wonders it could work for me.
Caudalie say 'Inspired by the "Elixir of Youth" used by Queen Isabelle of Hungary, this powerful, plant-based skincare smoothes features, tightens pores and gives a burst of radiance to the complexion.'
The fragrance of this product has divided many opinions. It is extremely herbal smelling, it actually reminds me of something herby from Lush (I can't actually remember exactly what) which isn't a bad thing in my books. I like the smell and I find it refreshing and invigorating when spraying it on my skin in the mornings. I have been using this in place of toner and while it doesn't do the exact same as a toner would it makes my skin feel cleaner and fresher and the extra shot of moisture always feels good.
I also love the packaging of this. The glass bottle has a pretty design and it all just feels so french (which I love!). It looks so classy and much more expensive than it is. I definately think that this is product was born to sit proudly on a pretty dressing table.
The main downside for me about this product was that it actually stings my eyes when I spray it on. Obviously I have my eyes shut when I spray but when it settles on my eyelids my eyes stream and sting a little. I imagined this to be gentler than that so to be honest I felt quite let down by this.
The things this elixir claims to do are all qualities I would love to improve in my own skin so I was praying for good results. I've been using this morning and evening, after cleansing and before moisturising every day for the past 4 weeks but to be honest I haven't seen any difference in the things I hoped to improve. I'm going to keep using this until I run out as it hasn't caused me any harm but I doubt I'll be repurchasing.
I have absolutely loved every other Caudalie product I've ever tried and I wanted so badly to love this but unfortunately I really didn't. I think this is just 'okay' rather than being good and I think for the money this isn't worth it for me personally.
Where do you stand on this cult product? Did you love it or not?

nice review!
